Popcorn Fundraiser 2023 Update
We are not selling popcorn; we are requesting a donation to help send out Cub Scouts to summer camp and to fund other scout activities and supplies. In return the donor receives a small token "thank you" in the form of their choice of popcorn for the price tier of there donation. This is the reason for the higher price on the popcorn is because a large portion of the proceeds goes to the scout to support their scouting experience.
It's important to remind them that a Cub Scout does more than play all day, we do service work within the community such as conservation efforts and community service. A great example is Scouting for Food, where we do the legwork to collect donations to provide to the local food pantry to make sure that nobody goes hungry in our communities.
Key points:
If you acquire $1500.00 worth of Popcorn Donations (you get an additional $125.00 that can be used for camp). This will be in addition to what you earn for selling the popcorn.
Its is estimated that on average you should be able to do $100/hr so you're looking at 16 hours of your time.
There will be an app that can be used on the phone to take payments via credit/debit cards with no service fee if the Trails End app is utilized.

FAQ
Can I use one app for more than one child?
The answer is "No" the App and all sales are tied to an individual cub/scout there will be no division on any sales so please be mindful of how you are processing purchases. You might prefer to run everything under your oldest scout's account.
What if I missed the July 5th deadline?
We will do our best to get you a storefront, but it may be difficult and no guarantee's on getting anything viable will be guaranteed.
Who is responsible for unsold popcorn?
The person placing the order will be responsible for the cost of the unsold popcorn, we will do our best to help alleviate this burden but remember to be mindful of what you are committing too.
Do I have to sell at storefront?
The answer is no, you can use the app per scout and sell to family and friends with an option to have delivery sent to them directly. Shipping rates/tax do apply.
Where does the money my scout earn go?
Money earned by the scout is deposited into the Cub Scout's scout account to be used for scouting activities, dues, camp etc.

What is recommended?
I would try to shoot for $1500.00 to earn the additional bonus for camp, we had an amazing time at RC-Scout Camp in 2023 and it would have been more enjoyable to have the rest of the pack there. We did horseback riding, archery, bb guns, slingshots, lots of exercise, arts, crafts etc... It was a wonderful 3-day program, and they even have 4-day programs too for the entire family to enjoy. In addition we are able to knock out a lot of the requirements for rank advancement while the Cub scouts are having the time of their lives.
